Personal Biography
Professor Paris Tekkis (BMed.Sci., BM BS, MD, FRCS), qualified from Nottingham University in 1994. His postgraduate training was at St Mark’s Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital in London and at the Cleveland Clinic, USA.
He was appointed as Clinical Senior Lecturer and Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at St Mary’s Hospital and Imperial College in 2004. He was promoted to Reader in Surgery and appointed at The Royal Marsden in 2008, and promoted to Professor of Colorectal Surgery in 2011.
He is the Chairman of the ‘Beyond TME (total mesorectal excision) Collaborative’ responsible for the publication of International Guidelines for the multidisciplinary management of advanced rectal cancer.
He is also known for the development of The UK National Bowel Cancer Audit and has supervised over 35 MD /PhD studentships.
Within the NHS, he holds consultant posts in London: The Royal Marsden Hospital; Chelsea & Westminster Hospital; and formal Senior Academic position at Imperial College London.
