About Dr Dean Creer
Dr Dean Creer has specialist expertise at clinical assessment and interpreting chest x-rays, chest CT scans and other specialised breathing testing. Additionally he also performs bronchoscopy to allow the visual assessment of the breathing tubes, having performed over 1500 procedures in the field.
Dr Creer has a broad range of respiratory expertise including the assessment of common respiratory symptoms such as cough (including longstanding cough, coughing excessive sputum and coughing up blood), wheezing, breathlessness, positive TB skin or TB blood tests. He also provides investigation of possible lung cancers including patients requiring lung cancer screening and its related symptoms or risk factors, such as unintentional weight loss or smoking.
Dr Creer has expertise managing conditions like asthma, COPD including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, unexplained breathlessness, chronic cough, lung cancer and patients with suspected lung cancer, snoring and sleep apnoea syndrome, pneumothorax, pulmonary embolism and sarcoidosis.
Personal Biography
Dr Creer studied at the University of Cape Town Medical School, graduating in 1991. He undertook his specialist medical training in London including the Royal Free Hospital, the London Chest and St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and has been a specialist respiratory and general medicine physician since 2004.
