Before you come in

In most cases, you’ll contact us about a concern following a referral from your GP. If you’ve already had an ECG, we’ll ask to see it before you come in, so we’re already up to speed with your case.

When you arrive

We’ve designed our greeting area to be a calm, airy space, to help minimise any stress you might be feeling. Our consultants pride themselves on sticking to their schedule, meaning they do their utmost to stick to appointment times ensuring you can get on with the rest of your day. We do also offer a walk-in service.

Assessing your needs

Our in-house triage team will discuss your symptoms and concerns with you in a private space, and decide on the best course of action. If you need further scans or tests, they’ll be able to arrange these for a time and day to suit you.

Planning your pathway

Your consultant will work with you to plan a pathway for managing or treating your symptoms. If you need a procedure, we’ll arrange a convenient time for you to come back to see us. Or, if you simply need support managing and monitoring your symptoms, we’ll create an action plan to suit you.

Managing and monitoring symptoms

Whether you need to make diet and lifestyle changes, or help managing long-term medication, we’ll discuss the options with you and work out the best next steps. We’ll be able to monitor your progress once you leave us through our dedicated triage team and if you have any questions, they will be on hand to help.

Preparing for your procedure

If you do need to come back for a procedure, we’ll make sure you’re well prepared. Our OneWelbeck Patient App will fill you in on what to expect, and make it easy for you to share key information with us. It allows you to:

  • Fill in all your forms at home, so there’s one less thing to worry about on the day.
  • Watch a video of your operation so you know what to expect.
  • Get a check list about things like what to bring or whether you need to fast beforehand.

One of our dedicated nurses will call to check how you’re doing a few days before your appointment, and answer any questions you might have.

During your procedure

As our partner doctors have been involved in the design of our surgery rooms, they’re the ideal clinical environment. From the space the team has to work in, to the equipment they work with, everything has been planned with patients in mind.

After your procedure

Once your procedure is over, we’ll bring you back to a private pod to rest. Your consultant will pop in to give you feedback on how it went, and explain what happens next. After a rest, you’ll be able to go home the same day.

Following up

Following your procedure, your consultant or dedicated nurse will give you details of any follow up appointments or any instructions you may need before you leave.
