Professor Richard Schilling is a consultant cardiologist at Welbeck Health, specialising in arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation.
He has been closely involved in the evolution and development of atrial fibrillation since its inception, and performs 200+ AF ablations each year. He has also been widely published for his research focusing on improving outcomes and safety of catheter ablation.
He is a professor of cardiology and electrophysiology at St Bart’s Hospital, where he is also director for strategy and commercial. He is also president of the British Heart Rhythm Society and served as the treasurer of the British Heart Rhythm Association.
He also helped establish two patient charities: the Arrhythmia Alliance and Atrial Fibrillation Association, and serves as their medical director.
