Heart Health Screen

Designed by our cardiology specialists, this medical-based screening service will help you know more about the current state of your heart health, and whether you need to make any lifestyle changes to minimise your risk of cardiovascular disease in the future.

Pricing and how to book

Each Heart Health Screen includes a one-hour appointment at our London centre where all tests are carried out, and one follow-up consultation with a cardiac nurse to go through your personalised report and advice on how to manage your risk in the future.

Why should I get a Heart Health Screen?

Have you ever wondered whether you’re at risk from heart disease? Do you think about how healthy your heart is? Do you have a family history of heart disease?

Many people will worry about their risk levels when it comes to heart disease but won’t know what to do about it. At OneWelbeck Heart Health, our Heart Health Screen has been designed to screen asymptomatic patients who are simply concerned about their future health, and for patients with no recent symptoms who feel that they might be at higher risk of cardiac disease due to family history, high cholesterol, or similar.

What does the assessment involve?

The assessment is a medical-based screen for heart disease risk and gives you a percentage chance of a cardiac event occurring within the next 5-10 years. In one visit to our Heart Health centre, patients will receive the following:
  • 12 Lead ECG with resting blood pressure
  • Echocardiogram
  • 24 hour blood pressure device
  • Stop Bang Questionnaire
  • Q Risk Score
  • Blood tests: Full blood count, thyroid function, U&E’s, and lipid profile.
This is followed up with a personalised consultation and report from one of our leading Cardiologists showing results and findings, along with suggestions for lifestyle changes if needed. The report is delivered 24 hours or more after the consultation, and this can be via a video call, over the phone, or in person. Should follow-up assessment or treatment be required or a different centre within the OneWelbeck group, we will be able to guide you through the next stages to ensure you get the best advice possible.

What does each of the tests do?

  • 12 Lead ECG and blood pressure monitoring: Provides critical information about your heart’s electrical activity and cardiovascular function.
  • Echocardiogram: Offers a detailed image of your heart’s chambers, valves, and overall function.
  • 24-hour blood pressure device: Tracks your blood pressure trends to detect potential issues that may not appear during a single reading.
  • Stop Bang Questionnaire: Screens for sleep apnoea, which has a strong correlation with cardiovascular conditions.
  • Q Risk Score: Calculates your 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease, enabling early intervention if necessary.
  • Blood tests:
    • Full blood count: Checks for anaemia and other blood abnormalities.
    • Thyroid function tests: Evaluates thyroid health, which can influence heart conditions.
    • U&E tests: Measures levels of sodium, potassium, and other key chemicals in your blood, which are vital for heart and kidney function.
    • Lipid profile: Assesses cholesterol and triglyceride levels to identify risk factors for heart disease.

How much does a heart health screen cost and how do I book?

The Heart Health Screen costs £1,500. It includes a one and half hour appointment at our London centre where all tests are carried out, and one follow-up consultation with a Cardiologist to go through your personalised report and advice on how to manage your risk in the future, including any suggested lifestyle changes or medical recommendations. This follow-up consultation can be carried out in-person or remotely, depending on your preference. If needed, the team will help make a referral to other specialists within the OneWelbeck group, such as endocrinologistsnutritionists, and dietitians.
