About Dr Hiva Fassihi
Dr Hiva Fassihi is a Consultant Dermatologist at OneWelbeck Skin Health & Allergy and the Clinical Lead for the National XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum) Service at St John’s Institute of Dermatology. Dr Fassihi consults on general dermatology, with specialist interests in genetic skin disorders and skin cancer.
She is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College, London and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) alongside being a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and British Society of Paediatric Dermatology.
Dr Fassihi is also a manuscript reviewer for the British Journal of Dermatology, and Clinical and Experimental Dermatology and has written numerous textbook chapters on dermatology. Additionally, she has achieved an array of awards for numerous of her presentations and papers including Albert M. Kligman Fellowship, Hugh Wallace Registrar’s prize, The Martin Beare Millennium Paediatric Award, Whimster Prize and Guys and St Thomas CARE award – XP team.
Dr Hiva Fassihi graduated from the University of Cambridge and undertook dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ London between 2003 – 2011.
This training included 3 years as a clinical research fellow working with the national epidermolysis bullosa service in where her research has led to numerous publications in highly regarded journals and presentations at both national and international dermatology and scientific meetings.
She was made an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at King’s College, London in 2017.
