About Dr Arjuna Nagendran

Dr Arjuna Nagendran is a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Queen Square, part of UCLH NHS Trust. He studied medicine at University College London and completed his specialist training at both Queen Square and Great Ormond Street Hospitals gaining extensive experience in both the adult and paediatric aspects of neurophysiology.
Dr Nagendran has a particular interest in EMG, Nerve conduction studies and Nerve Excitability studies. He has gained practical and research experience using EMG to investigate both common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and nerve/spinal root entrapment as well as peripheral neuropathy and rarer conditions including myasthenia gravis and motor neurone disease. He is experienced in both routine and prolonged EEG reporting and continues to have a strong interest in both adult and paediatric epilepsy.
Within his NHS practice, Dr Nagendran leads a team performing EMG, nerve conduction studies, EEG and Evoked potentials in the hospital’s core clinical neurophysiology service. He was also appointed to lead neurophysiology for the nationally commissioned highly specialised muscle channelopathy service in the MRC Centre of Neuromuscular Diseases, utilising advanced neurophysiological techniques in the assessment of rare muscle and nerve disorders.
