Personal Biography
Mr Matthew Stodell specialises in all aspects of plastic surgery with a particular interest in the surgical management of skin cancer. He is a consultant at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust and is a core member of the Specialist Skin cancer Multi-Disciplinary Team (SSMDT). He is Clinical Governance Lead for the Plastic Surgery department and was formerly Educational Lead for several years.
He always had an interest in plastic surgery from the start of his medical training. This was further developed after he was given a copy of “The Reconstruction of Warriors” by E.R. Mayhew as a junior doctor. He was fascinated by the surgical techniques described, detailing the infancy of plastic surgery and reconstructive procedures and their application to the pilots injured during the Second World War.
