About Mr Rupert Eckersley

Mr Rupert Eckersley is a consultant orthopaedic hand & wrist surgeon at OneWelbeck, specialising in traumatic and elective surgery and the treatment of Dupuytrens Disease.

Mr Eckersley works closely with specialised hand therapists to provide comprehensive and integrated treatment programmes and a close working relationship to ensure good outcomes are achieved.

He has also been involved in the development of the Hand Diploma, a higher qualification in Hand Surgery created under the auspices of the British society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and the University of Manchester.

Mr Eckersley is currently the Chairman of the Hand Diploma Committee and represents BSSH in Europe and Internationally. He has been the Honorary Secretary of BSSH, completing his term of office in December 2009.

He continues to keep up to date with the latest information and techniques in hand & wrist by attending both national and international meetings on hand and wrist surgery.
