About Mr Joshua Lee
Mr Lee is a fellowship-trained Hip and Knee Surgeon. He provides comprehensive treatment of hip and knee conditions, from sports injuries to joint replacement. He is trained in the latest keyhole and minimally invasive tissue sparing techniques, including arthroscopic and minimally invasive, tissue sparing surgery, to offer his patients the best possible outcomes and recovery.
He has a keen interest in teaching and training, having helped set up and run Orthopaedic Simulation training at the Royal London Hospital, where he is appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and has served as Clinical Lead of the Department of Orthopaedics. As well as teaching the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, he has recently helped secure a bid to set up a simulation centre for orthopaedics at The Royal London. He is also actively involved in research and is regularly asked to present at national and international conferences.
Mr Lee, BSc(Hons) MBChB MSc FRCS(Tr&Orth), completed his Orthopaedic Training on the North West Thames rotation in West London. Prior to this he spent a year in research based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, investigating the long-term wear properties of total knee replacements.
He completed sub-specialist training in Hip and Knee surgery on the prestigious Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The Ottawa Hospital in Canada. Working with world renowned surgeon, Dr Paul Beaulé, he developed an interest in hip joint preservation surgery and tissue sparing hip joint replacement surgery. He also gained fellowship training in Major Trauma at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
He was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to The Royal London Hospital in 2011 and was Clinical Lead of the Department of Orthopaedics for 3 years. He has particular expertise in treating hip impingement and knee injuries, providing a tertiary referral service for complex knee ligament injuries for the surrounding region. He also has a keen interest in education and training, having set up and run the Orthopaedics Simulation Centre at The Royal London Hospital.
