Mr Hari Ratan

Hari studied medicine at Nottingham University Medical School, graduating with honours in 1998. He trained in general surgery and urology in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. He has always had a strong interest in academic research and was awarded a national scholarship and a DM degree for his research into prostate cancer. He remains actively involved in cancer research, and is an Honorary Assistant Professor at Nottingham University.

Having completed his urological training, he was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2010, specialising in the treatment of complex urinary stone disease. He developed the specialist stone service at Nottingham University Hospitals, and continues a busy NHS practice there. He offers various innovative surgical procedures for kidney stone disease, including shockwave lithotripsy, mini-PCNL and flexible ureterorenoscopy. He also has a broad experience of general urological conditions, and he sees patients with a wide range of conditions including blood in the urine (haematuria), scrotal lumps, urinary tract infections and benign prostatic problems.

Hari is currently the Vice Chair of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Section of Endourology.
