After Dr McDonald found the BCC, he recommended a biopsy, which I came back for shortly afterwards. It involved a couple of stitches, and I returned a week later to have them removed.
When the results confirmed the BCC, I had another appointment to discuss treatment options. That’s when I met with Dr Seaton. He confirmed I was suitable for Mohs surgery and explained the process in detail.
In the lead-up to surgery, I had some back and forth with the team because I was feeling nervous and wanted to fully understand my options. They were incredibly thorough and patient, and after careful consideration, we agreed Mohs was the most appropriate choice.
The surgery took place over the course of about half a day, and after that I had several follow-up appointments to check how I was healing
