About Ms Lucy Kerrison
Ms Kerrison is a specialist consultant dietitian in gut health and women’s health. She has spent a number of years working within world leading NHS teaching hospitals and has now moved over to the private sector, in order to dedicate more time and attention to each client. Ms Kerrison has worked within the John Radcliffe hospital, including surgical wards, trauma, infectious disease and gastroenterology. She then moved to the Churchill Hospital to specialise in bariatric surgery, before moving to East Surrey Hospital to specialise in gastroenterology.
Ms Kerrison has significant experience working with complex functional gut conditions & intolerances, in particular: small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) & intestinal methanogenic overgrowth (IMO). She previously led and developed the hydrogen breath testing service within a large private hospital group in London. She guided clients through all parts of their journey, from recommending if a breath test would be beneficial, to updating the recommended preparation diet and designing a treatment pathway and protocols for the entire team to follow.
She has gained vast experience across a range of complex gastrointestinal conditions as well as holding a number of team lead roles. She has now stepped down from these, in order to focus on her own clients and keeping up to date with the latest scientific evidence, to improve gut health through diet and lifestyle. Ms Kerrison currently offers private consultations at OneWelbeck and King Edward VII hospital, as well as being a guest lecturer for final year dietetic students at the University of Surrey, on the subject of IBS. She also enjoys presenting to other health care professionals, as well as the general public, on the importance of gut health. Lucy is currently contributing to the manual of dietetic practice, a guide used by all dietetic students, completing the chapter on malabsorption.
