About Mr Paul Carter

Mr Paul Carter is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist here at OneWelbeck Women's Health. He is qualified from The Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital in 1983, with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees having also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, in Anatomy, from King's College, London in 1980. Upon completion of house jobs he became a Demonstrator of Human Anatomy at King's College, London. Subsequent rotations were in General Surgery and Obstetrics& Gynaecology at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital and Guy's Hospital. He obtained Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1988 and Membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 1991.

His Doctorate degree was from Queen Mary's, University of London, following two years of oncology research, at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He was appointed as a consultant, at St George's in 1997 where he still works as The Unit Cancer Surgeon and Lead Clinician for Colposcopy & Vulval Disorders. He was Clinical Lead for Obstetrics & Gynaecology from 2006 to 2009. He ahs always had a keen interest in anatomy and, in 2014 was appointed to the post of Head of Anatomy, in addition to his clinical roles. He still lectures on anatomy at The RCOG and on several post-graduate courses/M.Sc. degrees. His publications, mainly relate to gynaecological oncology.
