Mr Oliver Warren is a consultant colorectal and hernia surgeon at OneWelbeck Digestive Health, where he specialises in day case hernia surgery, proctology and endoscopy.
He is Clinical Director of Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. Oliver offers a number of innovative surgical techniques for haemorrhoids, hernias and other common digestive conditions aimed at reducing post-operative pain and ensuring as rapid a recovery as possible.
Mr Oliver Warren BSc (Hons) MBBS (Hons.) MD (Res.) FRCS (Gen.Surg.) qualified from Imperial College London in 2001, coming top of his class in both medicine and surgery. He gained his doctorate in 2009, from Imperial College London. In 2012, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons for which he was awarded the ASGBI Gold Medal for outstanding performance.
Prior to becoming a consultant he undertook colorectal surgery fellowships at St. Mark’s Hospital, London and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. He was the 2013 Association of Coloproctology’s visiting fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. All three hospitals are world-famous tertiary referral centres specialising in colorectal disease.
In 2015 he was appointed consultant in colorectal surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and honorary clinical senior lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. Oliver is now the Clinical Director of Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Research Highlights
Oliver has published over 100 peer reviewed publications and book chapters on a diverse range of subjects including colorectal and hernia surgery, medical leadership, patient safety and surgical education.
In 2015, he published his first book entitled ‘Going into Hospital? A guide for patients, carers and families‘ which seeks to engage patients in their care throughout the entire pathway and help patients improve their quality of care directly.
In 2008 he worked at the Department of Health as a Clinical Adviser to the Under-Secretary of State for Health.
From 2007-2014, he was the founder and clinical lead of Prepare to Lead: a prize-winning leadership development mentoring programme commissioned by NHS London.
He has held a number of advisory roles to public, private and third-sector organisations.
