Dr Karen Chung is an experienced consultant neurologist with a busy acute and general Neurology practice. She has a subspecialty interest in multiple sclerosis, and women's health in Neurology. She qualified in Medicine from Guy's, King's and St. Thomas School of Medicine, London, before completing medical and higher Neurology training in Southampton, Sussex and London, including at the world-renowned National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square.
Her NHS consultant practice is based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and at Homerton University Hospital. She was awarded an MDRes from the University College London UCL Institute of Neurology in 2020 for her research work. Her research project looked at the early prognostic markers and long-term outcomes in MS. She has a personal interest in obstetrics care and female health in women with MS, and set up the MS-Obstetrics care service at the National Hospital.
She was awarded a fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians Emerging Women Leaders Programme in 2020-21.In her personal time, she is a keen reader, likes to play the piano, row and spend time with her family.
