Dr Tomson is a Cardiologist with a special interest in heart rhythm management, certified cardiac devices specialist (CCDS), prevention of heart disease and control of risk factors for heart disease, and extensive clinical, teaching and research experience (MD, FRCP).

About Dr Joseph Tomson

Dr Tomson is a Consultant Cardiologist here at OneWelbeck Heart Health, with interests in cardiac rhythm management, atrial fibrillation, implantation of Cardiac devices (including pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation therapy), palpitations, dizziness, loss of consciousness (syncope), hypertension, lipid management and prevention of heart disease.

 

Dr Tomson is an expert in managing cardiac problems including palpitations, dizziness and blackouts, shortness of breath, atrial fibrillation and chest pain. He sub specialises in cardiac rhythm management, arrhythmia, cardiac devices and heart failure. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and an Honorary associate clinical professor at the UCL Medical School, London. He is a certified cardiac devices specialist (CCDS 2015).

 

He qualified in 1999 (MBBS) and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, London) in 2004 and completed higher specialist training in Cardiology (CCT) in 2015. He undertook Cardiovascular research at the CTSU, University of Oxford (MD, 2016).
