Personal Biography
Dr Deven Patel, MBBS MRCP, qualified from the Middlesex Hospital (now merged with UCLH) in 1985, with distinction. He then trained in general and interventional cardiology at the Royal Free, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.
He was appointed as an NHS consultant in 1999 to Barnet, Chase Farm and The Royal Free hospitals, where is head of cardiology since 2007.
Dr Patel has trained in all aspects of cardiology but has specialised in coronary angiography, intervention and stenting, with an interest in complex coronary intervention using Rotablation and intravascular ultrasound

Outside of a busy cardiological practice and a happy family life with his wife and two sons, he enjoys physical pursuits including skiing, tennis, golf and trekking. He has previously completed a 40k bike race as part of a triathlon, hiked the Mont Blanc tour and climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.
Dr Patel is fluent in Gujarati and manages Hindi tolerably.
