A state-of-the-art medical practice due to open in Oxford next year will transform people’s access and experience of private healthcare services, its new Centre Director has said.
Rachel Boxall has joined Welbeck Health Partners to oversee the development of its new £30million centre in Jordan Hill which will offer world-class medical services for 12 specialities including heart health, lung health, digestive health, urology, gynaecology, ear, nose and throat clinics, orthopaedics, and high-tech diagnostic imaging.
As one of Welbeck Health Partners’ first regional centres, Welbeck Oxford will create around 100 jobs and draw on the expertise of the UK’s leading clinicians and cutting-edge technology placing it at the forefront of private healthcare in the region.
Rachel joins with a strong track record in private healthcare management having held several Hospital Director positions as well as senior managerial roles in operations, surgical theatres and physiotherapy for two of the largest UK private healthcare providers.
Rachel said expanding Welbeck’s brand and healthcare services outside its existing London centre is an exciting project to be involved with, and something that personally represents a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“This centre will revolutionise the quality of private healthcare outside London,” said Rachel.
“By combining innovative healthcare strategies, with the latest technology and leading clinicians, Welbeck Oxford will provide prompt, accessible, patient-focussed, day care services with outstanding patient outcomes.”
Welbeck Oxford will operate as a partnership with leading consultants and clinicians, who are already involved in defining the building’s design and plans for its operation. Some 80 leading clinicians have partnered with Welbeck Oxford ahead of next year’s launch.
Together, they will make informed decisions on the services and infrastructure required to best serve patients under their speciality care.
Rachel added: “By collaborating with the UK’s leading clinicians and allowing them to shape our treatment pathways, we are unlocking the true potential of private healthcare.
“Welbeck Oxford will set the standard for exceptional care by delivering a centre of excellence which understands the latest trends in healthcare, recognises the pressures on busy people, and provides convenient treatment pathways to fit around patients’ busy lifestyles.
“This will be achieved by prioritising efficiency and quality from the point of making an initial appointment to being discharged from their clinician’s care.”
Prior to the launch, Rachel will continue to onboard new colleagues and oversee the new centre’s structural development while establishing new partnerships to meet Welbeck’s community and charitable aspirations.
She added: “We will be much more than a private healthcare centre. We want to join the heart of the Oxford community by partnering with charities and well-established local organisations to play a full part in making Oxford a great place to be.
“By engaging through a collaborative approach, we can play an important role in creating a happier and healthier Oxfordshire.”
