Role Information:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology team, with a focus on supporting Stress Echocardiography services. The successful candidate will have experience in cardiology nursing, patient monitoring, and working within fast-paced outpatient environments. This role is vital in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care during diagnostic procedures.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for stress echocardiography and exercise testing, ensuring informed consent and comfort.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures, including ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Assist cardiac physiologists and consultants during stress echo procedures, including dobutamine stress echocardiography and bubble contrast echocardiography.
- Perform cannulation as required for contrast administration and other procedures.
- Recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or abnormal findings promptly, escalating as appropriate.
- Support in the coordination and participation of resuscitation huddles, ensuring readiness and team communication.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with clinical governance standards.
- Support the setup and calibration of equipment used in stress testing and echocardiography.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols at all times.
- Provide clear communication and education to patients regarding procedures and aftercare.
- Participate in audits, service improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- NMC Registered Nurse (Adult)
- ECG knowledge and arrhythmia recognition
- Previous experience in cardiology or acute care setting (stress testing experience desirable)
- Competency in cannulation and emergency response protocols
- BLS/ILS certification (ALS desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
