About Mr Lee Parker

Mr Parker’s private practice is based at OneWelbeck Orthopaedics and The London Orthopaedic Clinic at King Edward VII Hospital, Marylebone. Mr Parker works in the National Health Service at the Royal London Hospital and Bart’s Health Orthopaedic Centre where he is the foot and ankle sub-specialty lead.

Mr Parker offers individualised treatment, where possible, using non-operative and minimally-invasive surgical interventions. He works in partnership with physiotherapists, podiatrists, pain specialists, rheumatologists and musculoskeletal radiologists using the latest investigations including Standing CT, 3T MRI and dynamic ultrasound. He is recognised by all main medical insurers.

Patient understanding about their condition is integral to treatment success - Mr Parker teaches regularly on established foot and ankle surgery courses including those focused on trauma. He is the author of several peer-reviewed research publications and book chapters on foot and ankle surgery.

He was a member of the medical team offering specialist support for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, in London.

Mr Lee Parker is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based at the Royal London and Newham University Hospital – Europe’s largest trauma centre.

Mr Parker, BM MRCS FRCS(Tr&Orth), qualified from the University of Southampton and was awarded a distinction in medical sciences, in 2002. He undertook research within the University Orthopaedic Department at Southampton General Hospital before his orthopaedic training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore rotation.

He worked in several highly regarded hospitals within London during his training; including: the Royal Free, Great Ormond Street, and the tertiary referral foot and ankle unit of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Mr Parker has undertaken advanced foot and ankle fellowship training within the Avon Orthopaedic Unit in Bristol, focusing on the arthroscopic ankle and hindfoot surgery.

He was also awarded the European Foot and Ankle Society traveling fellowship, in 2014; taking him through specialist foot and ankle units in Switzerland, Belgium, and Spain.

His main interest is arthroscopic and minimally-invasive foot and ankle surgery.

Research Highlights

Mr Parker was awarded the W.J Little Medal by the Seddon Society, for his published research into a foot and ankle fusion.

In addition to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, Mr Parker has authored book chapters on osteochondral lesions of the talus, foot and ankle fusion, and tumours of the foot and ankle.

He also co-edited the foot and ankle section of the EFOST surgical techniques in sports medicine series.
