Dr Markus Laupheimer has a keen interest in providing holistic Sports Medicine Care with an interest in MSK Ultrasound, Injection Therapies, Sports Nutrition, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation. Dr Laupheimer also has a keen interest in myofacial pain and muscular dysfunction.
He has worked in the past as a Sports & MSK Physician for the RAF and the England Football Association. Covering the England Senior Men’s Futsal Team (one of the fastest growing sports in the world) and part-time U18/U19 & U20 England Football Team he has a passion for working with sports. During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Dr Laupheimer worked as a Sports Medicine Doctor for Swimming, Diving, Waterpolo, Rowing and in the Athletes Village. Next to practical MSK & Sports Medicine he is interested in research and developing new ideas. Currently he is looking into the effects of stem cell treatments in musculoskeletal medicine.

Personal biography
Dr Markus Laupheimer started off his interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine by working in sports and orthopaedic centres in Switzerland, Germany, the US and the UK, before starting a GP, medical and sports medicine rotation. He received an MD with distinction from Ulm Medical School (Germany) looking into immunology of joints and metal replacements, before qualifying as a GP and Consultant in General Medicine with a focus on sports and musculoskeletal medicine. He followed his longterm interest in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine by completing an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at Queen Mary University of London.

In addition he completed an MBA from Bradford School of Management with distinction & a Certificate of health economics from London School of Economics with a focus in Innovation Management. Innovation can sometimes be to use the latest research into natural products and treatments, combined with newest technology and medical evidence.
Markus has set up his own brand, Swiss Sports Care, for the private practice he operates at OneWelbeck Orthopaedics.
