About Mr Vijay Padmanaban
Vijay Padmanaban is a Clinical Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist and an extended scope practitioner in respiratory medicine. He currently leads the Acute Integrated Respiratory (AIR) team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is a non-medical independent prescriber and does advanced clinical practice as part of his NHS work. He holds a master’s degree in Physiotherapy and post graduate diploma in Respiratory medicine. He has over 15 years specialist experience in managing patients with chronic lung disease. He is a certified Buteyko breathing technique trainer for adults and also ARTP competent in performing and interpreting spirometry.
He is an active researcher with several publications in leading journals and has presented at national & international conferences. He has recently completed a pre-doctoral fellowship and a committee member of the Pan London airways network.
