Dr Steve Allen completed his undergraduate training in medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, in 1997.
Following basic surgical training and completion of the FRCS (London), he undertook specialist radiological training at the Hammersmith Hospitals.
He was appointed as a Consultant Radiologist at The Royal Marsden in 2006.
He is a leading referee for peer reviewing breast papers submitted to the British Journal of Radiology. He is a peer reviewer for other leading journals as well as the NHS National Institute for Health Research programme.
Research and Awards
Dr Allen is a specialist advisor to the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence in radiological breast interventional procedures.
Academic interests include the mammographic quantification of breast density, digital breast tomosynthesis, and CT and MRI angiography techniques for imaging the abdominal wall prior to breast reconstructive surgery.
He has published 27 peer reviewed papers on mainly breast and oncological imaging. He has more than 50 national/international presentations.
