Getting to know Mr Wilson
In his free time, Jonathan enjoys relaxing with his family. He is an avid supporter of the Ulster and Irish Rugby Union teams.
I first met Jonathan Wilson in July 2018 having been referred by my local GP. At the first meeting he was very open and honest expressing concern at my symptoms and the results of his brief examination.
My next meeting was to review the results of a CT scan and MRI scan which followed a colonoscopy that had revealed a rectal tumour. Needless to say I was very nervous knowing that it was likely that the tumour was cancerous but he immediately put me at ease by telling me that whilst I had cancer it was curable and that the required operation was one he had carried out many times before. He went through the mechanics of the operation and the detailed results of the scans in such a way that I had total confidence in his ability to fix my problem.
Ten days later the operation went without a hitch and the recovery path was relatively smooth. Mr Wilson visited me every day (bar one) of my six day stay in hospital.
I can confidently recommend Mr Wilson to anyone with colon/bowel issues His manner is very approachable and informative and clearly his technical skills as a surgeon are first class. I am very grateful to him for all that he has done for me.A Patient of Doctor Jonathan Wilson
Jonathan Wilson was the most professional and caring person throughout my illness. I trusted him with my life and he saved it. I cannot thank him enough for picking me up from the hopeless place I was in and putting all the pieces back together. My life now is the very best quality it could be through his skill as a surgeon and care as a person.A Patient of Doctor Jonathan Wilson
Mr Jonathan Wilson is a caring, professional surgeon and the reason I am alive and well today. I consulted him with symptoms that did not suggest cancer, but he recommended precautionary tests which resulted in a diagnosis of colon cancer. Challenging surgery was needed as the tumour was in a tricky position. Mr Wilson gained my trust quickly and was empathetic and informative, both pre- and post-operatively. I always felt that I was in very capable hands. I have recommended him to both family and friends, who he has since treated. They have also had similarly positive experiences.A Patient of Doctor Jonathan Wilson
