Career Highlights
Dr Deepak Suri, BSc, FRCP, MD, is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist at the Whittington Health NHS Trust, and consultant hepatologist at University College London Hospital.
Following his graduation in 1992, Dr Suri undertook postgraduate training at a number of London hospitals, including St George’s, Guy’s, the Middlesex and the Royal Free. He is clinically trained in hepatology, having carried out research in viral hepatitis while at UCL and working as a senior registrar at Royal Free Hospital’s Liver Unit.
He trains and educates colleagues including junior doctors and nurses. He has also been a clinical and training lead for endoscopy and clinical and educational supervisor to junior doctors at the Whittington Health NHS Trust.

Why did you choose to be part of the OneWelbeck team?
For the opportunity to be part of a consultant led gastrointestinal unit that is able to offer the best gastro-intestinal care to patients.

What are the moments which stand out most in your career so far?
I have enjoyed my training and time as a consultant. In particular, I have enjoyed the development of endoscopy and liver disease whereby incurable conditions such as hepatitis c are now straightforward to treat.
