What the moments in your career that you are most proud of?
There are three achievements that really stand out for me: Establishing the HPB Fellowship Scheme at Imperial, which has so far trained three exceptional endoscopists, all of whom have gone on to secure prestigious teaching hospital posts in advanced endoscopy. Also being invited to become Medical Advisor to AMMF – the UK’s bile duct cancer charity.
And, finally, establishing a collaborative research programme in 2008, with engineering colleagues at Imperial, developing brand new technologies to improve endoscopic imaging.
What makes OneWelbeck Digestive Health different to other endoscopy centres?
We’re a purpose-built facility with a sole focus on delivering excellence in endoscopy. This can be seen in the incredible attention to detail we’ve given to the overall patient experience and putting our customers’ satisfaction at the forefront of everything.
We’re JAG accredited and have (in my opinion) the best nursing staff in London, plus the equipment we use is brand new and cutting-edge.
How do you like to spend your free time?
With my family. Walking in Norfolk with our dog. Browsing in old fashioned book shops and exploring the UK and wider world.
