When you arrive
You’ll be met by our friendly reception team at the front desk, checked in and shown to the waiting area. We’ve designed our waiting area to be a calm space, helping to minimise any stress you might be feeling. We also stagger our appointments carefully, so it never feels crowded and you will be seen at the time of your appointment.
Assessing your needs
You’ll start by meeting your chosen consultant to discuss any symptoms or concerns to identify the root cause(s) of the problem. As part of your assessment you might be referred by your consultant for a scan or blood tests. This can often be done on the same day as your consultation or alternatively you can liaise with our reception team to find a date and time that works best for you.
Any investigative tests will be performed on-site and sent to the lab for analysis. Your report will be prepared within 24 hours and share with your chosen Consultant so the results can be discussed at your follow up consultation.
There are also a number of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that can be undertaken as part of the clinic appointment in order to solve the problem you have. These include phototherapy, laser therapy, and skin resurfacing.
Planning your journey
If you need a follow-up consultation, your Consultant will discuss the results from your initial consultation and any diagnostic tests you might have had. They will use these results to recommend the most appropriate treatment journey for your condition. This might be discharging you if the problem is solved or booking you in for non-operative procedure or an operation.
Managing and treating your problem
Many dermatological and allergy problems can be solved in the clinic. In some circumstances your consultant may discuss the option of surgery. Your consultant will always provide a full of explanation around this, including your alternative options and what how the recovery period will be and the plan for post-operative care.
If you need surgery, it will take place at our purpose built on-site Surgery Centre. As our partner doctors have been involved in the design of our theatres and patient rooms, they’re the ideal clinical environment. From the space the team works in, to the equipment they work with, everything has been planned with patients in mind. The new theaters have been kitted out with state of the art brand new surgical equipment including laser and microscopes. We also have all the consumables available to provide every available option and technique expected of a world-class centre. And because our teams work together every day, there’s no need for introductions or explanations; they can just focus on your care.
If your Consultant has recommended that you need to have surgery, they will explain the whole procedure to you, including any risks and what to expect afterwards. Where possible we will aim to combine all different parts of the journey into one total cost to make things as clear and easy as possible.
If you still have questions or just want to read at your own pace, you can find out more about your symptoms, conditions or treatment on our Tests and Treatments pages.
