Areas of Expertise

Dr Greener provides diagnoses and advises management plans for the following:

  • Endocrinology including pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid disorders
  • Diabetes; Dr Greener has a particular interest in the management of Type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
  • Bariatric Medicine: Identifying and addressing underlying reasons for weight gain, medical management of obesity and metabolic syndrome with expert links to world class bariatric psychologists and surgeons where appropriate

About Dr Veronica Greener

Alongside her position at OneWelbeck Endocrinology, Dr Veronica Greener is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Bariatric Physician at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She trained at Barts NHS Trust, an internationally renowned centre for endocrinology, for almost 10 years.

Dr Greener is a keen researcher and her work is widely published in leading medical publications. Her patients would describe her as a compassionate and highly-competent consultant who listens carefully to her patients, leaving them feeling well-informed and well looked after.

Dr Greener graduated from University of London in 2001 with MBBS with distinctions in Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology and Surgery and a1st Class Intercalated BSc in Pharmacology. Since qualifying she completed post-graduate training at Barts and was awarded MRCP in 2005. She undertook specialist endocrinology training at Barts NHS Trust during which time she won several national and international awards including the AMEND Young Investigator Award in 2008 and an Endocrine Society Travel Grant for Outstanding Research to present her work at ENDO 2009 in Washington DC. She completed her specialist training in 2011 and has been a Consultant in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bariatric Medicine at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Fdn Trust since 2014. Dr Greener was awarded FRCP in 2017.

While training at Barts NHS Trust, for almost a decade, she gained a depth and breadth of experience managing a wide range of endocrinology patients. More recently, she has developed her clinical experience in the field of bariatric medicine, working closely with bariatric surgeons and collaborating in clinical trials which have led to publications in the Lancet.

Research Highlights

Dr Greener’s current research interests have focussed on: Bariatric surgery in individuals with human immunodeficiency virus and type 2 diabetes; and adjunctive liraglutide treatment in patients with persistent or recurrent type 2 diabetes after metabolic surgery (GRAVITAS).
